We are delighted to announce that our new Birmingham store has joined the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA). But what is the MLA, and what does being a member mean for us and our customers? Read on to discover everything you need to know about the Master Locksmiths Association and what it means for us.
Who Are The Master Locksmiths Association
The MLA is a not for profit trade association who represents locksmiths in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1958 by a group of locksmiths in London with a goal to set and promote standards of conduct for the locksmithing industry. The Master Locksmiths Association offers a range of memberships, including ones for both individual locksmiths and companies.
As one of the largest locksmith trade associations in the UK, the MLA also offers training courses to people looking to become locksmiths and locksmiths who want to advance their current skill set.
Why Use A MLA Approved Locksmith?
There is nothing worse than hiring a tradesman to do a job and feeling unsatisfied with the quality of work. Using a MLA approved locksmith gives customers peace of mind that a job will be completed to their satisfaction. There are many benefits to using a locksmith who is part of the MLA, including:
- Members are strictly vetted with a DBS check, including checking for a criminal record. All locksmith employees who are part of an approved locksmith company will need to undergo a standard DBS check
- The MLA conduct regular inspections of members to ensure they are completing jobs to a high standard
- Training is provided to members by the association to help locksmiths stay up to date with the latest industry developments
- The association is recognised by the police and government
- Recommended by Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network
